My name is Kat.

Looking for a UX/UI & Product Designer?

I'm passionate about designing solutions that emphasize accessibility, usability and reduce cognitive load through crafting creative designs that bridge the gap between intuitive and delightful. I design impactful experiences that make everyday usability helpful, understandable, and streamlined.

Mentorship.

I'm drawn to challenging roles where I can create, lead, and mentor designers and cross-functional teams in enterprise Agile/Scrum/SAFe (etc.) environments.

Agility.

Agile methodologies just make sense. They align well with Design Thinking's deeply rooted iterative process.

Experience.

With 10+ years of experience and 12 co-authored patents, I'm passionate about what I do. Communication is the foundation of all my work; my designs communicate clearly and intuitively, balancing solid concepts, user needs, and business requirements to create elegant solutions that positively impact people's lives.

Simplicity.

A great design starts with simplicity. No one wants a ton of clicks to find what they're looking for. Everyone should be able to use and understand designs. Each new project is an opportunity to remove obstacles and make a meaningful impact on someone's day.

I enjoy engaging with other usability and accessibility advocates; coaching on design systems and deliverable use, optimizing the design process, fleshing out design systems, and creating awareness of design-thinking processes across Agile Scrum development teams. I love the challenge of learning new tech, new techniques, and new experience spaces - and can't wait for the next challenge. 

In my free time you can find me taking photos, writing, drawing or painting, reading a good book, playing board games, or thinking about my latest DIY/craft projects around the house. I love to travel and I adore geeky things and my two golden retrievers, Jupiter and Jester.
